Create First Log Item

Firework is a place to centrally store log items and display them in a real-time. Log items can be added via the Rest API or manually via the Add page. To show the simplest example of adding a log item we are going to add one via the Add page. ## Manually Add a Log Item Once logged in click on the Add button in the header navigation bar. This will display the Add page. [block:image] { "images": [ { "image": [ "https://files.readme.io/c6if2WtHQLCnz1Lc8pzA_AddEmpty.jpg", "AddEmpty.jpg", "723", "374", "#dddddd", "" ], "caption": "Add Form" } ] } [/block] Complete the form fields as shown below and click Submit to save the new log item [block:image] { "images": [ { "image": [ "https://files.readme.io/w0GbPSN7QmSqjcvzpXZU_AddJohnRowed.jpg", "AddJohnRowed.jpg", "729", "398", "#dedfde", "" ], "caption": "Add with Details" } ] } [/block] This will add the new log item and display it on the real-time Timeline page. [block:image] { "images": [ { "image": [ "https://files.readme.io/fUbbyV62RqOSVCoeBhJ2_TimelineFirstLogItem.jpg", "TimelineFirstLogItem.jpg", "965", "593", "#a94048", "" ], "caption": "Timeline First Log Item" } ] } [/block] Congratulations, you've just added your first log item into your fresh Firework installation. ## Next Steps Adding manual items is handy but the real power comes in [adding items via the Rest API](doc:testinput).
